I loved Final Fantast XIII-2. It was a great game but I missed having summons. I also hope they take the crystaruim progression back to how it was in Final Fantasy XIII. I felt like they progressed at the same pace and I really couldn't control the path that I wanted to take them on.

@Ben Bateman I'm hoping it goes on sale but I also interested to know if the story is a bit longer than Final Fantasy XIII-2 because it seemed a little short.

Square Enix did say there was not going to be much news on Lightning Returns for a while.


However there is an interview here with Toriyama and he does speak a bit about LR, being the most completed and polished FF game.

*nods* That's pretty much it for now. I agree that the bit about a happy ending being revealed this soon was something of a surprise though.

thanks grimoire i took some notes of a features:

so the chaos has intervene with the age progress then so all remaining characters main & NPC are still alives that is good.

the free to move around & set attack and magic to buttons KH style.

your actions could bring the end of world early is scary so no wreckless action on lighting part.

help a person and the world steps forward towards destroyed that because we been wasteing time helping ppl instead of trying to find bad black stuff & bad monsters.

killed baddies world take a step back from being destroyed we focus more on the main problem the monsters.

hope send message to lighting but no word of what other characters are returning and what part they will play i guess just support story characters since we cant control them.

lastly we get a happy ending that should b spoiler warning surely, true it didn't tell the outcome of the game but we can figure it out.

At the bottom it says something about Hope being confirmed, and he is sending wireless messages through to Lightning. It also says that the people of XIII-2 didn't die when the chaos was released, but stopped ageing! So Noel and the rest could still be in this game! :o

I have some questions, and if you could give some answers I'd be grateful.

1. Will there be more presentations coming up in the next few weeks/months explaining more about the game, in the same way they announced what they have so far?
2. Will this game be a stand alone title, or a direct sequel to XIII-2? I understand its set hundreds of years later?
3. Will the game give all the answers that we the fans were hoping for after the ending of XIII-2 left things up in the air? E.g. what happened to Gran Pulse. The characters of Noel, Hope, Sazh, Snow, Fang, Vanille and Serah. The hinted revival/rebirth of Etro.
These are some of the many questions that have been flooding the net.

I know there is a lot you can't tell us, but appreciate if you could answer what you can.

@Dzekeris I think you need to re-read the whole thing again. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII IS the sequel to XIII-2, however it's not named XIII-3, which imo it should have been done, since it's easier to look up and search for that LR: FFXIII.

How is it possible to announce an update to the official site that will add (old) information you can already find online... I think many things will become clear today

After looking at the presentations again, I noted that the producer said he wants to answer all the questions about lightning saga, and in another it was noted that the four islands were only one of the many new elements. Will be interesting on what else they got planned and if they can answer every question that's been left.

I believe the red dragon monster should use pretty much the same CG animation pattern as the scalebeasts. Just guesswork from my side though.

I think everyone here is waiting gamelay or trailer

Is that the same Red Dragon Monster which looks kind of similar to Agni's Philosophy trailer or is this just wishful thinking
