Community Spotlight: FINAL FANTASY VII Fan Film
For those of you who are inseparable from the internet (it's our lifeline) then there's a strong chance you stumbled across this gem in the last couple of days. We all have our own ways of celebrating and idolising our favourite games, be it fan-art, fan fiction, or just chatting about it online, but it takes some truly talented people to pull off making a film. Enter Gionata Medeot and Mattia Ferraro who've set their minds on producing an entire live action FINAL FANTASY VII film. They've just released a teaser and it has hit the internet in a massive way.
So what do you think of their teaser video. Is this something that you'd love to see? As a fan if you could make a live action film of any Square Enix game what would it be?

Meh, I'm a PS user. I've been sticking with Sony's line of console's since the PS era and have most of them, excluding the Vita. I'll also be purchasing the 4 since I was pretty much blown away during the presentation (even though we didn't actually get to see it). Plus, some of my favorite titles are on Sony consoles including the new FF that will be revealed at E3. I'm definitely interested in what Microsoft have planned though, and I will watch their presentation. But, some of the things I've heard like the the new Illumniroom (or at least I think that's what they call it) extention for the Kinect is a bit too much for an old-class gamer like me who needs his controller and a normal screen to look at. Heck, even the Kinect is way too complicated and difficult to get used to. How could anyone expect to play games without some sort of controller? Also, there's rumors going around saying the new console needs 24/7 internet connection. Even my PC doesn't have that much internet! This would be something that would make me turn away from Microsoft, even if I had previous consoles. As for a live action film of any Square Enix game, I would go for Nier. I know not many people liked it but I think it would make a great film. Very loveable characters, great story and quite a few shocks!

I want to play the role of Sephiroth. The one-chicken-winged bad guy.
As for picking a game to make a film of myself, it'd have to be Final Fantasy VI. There's just a LOT of depth to that story, and so many amazing plot events. Characters, locations, backstory - it's all brilliant, and would match the scale of say The Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. I suppose my first choice would have been VII, but with it being a 3D game, and having Advent Children, we can already see how epic it is. The surprise of seeing VI like that for the first time, would be much greater.

The Community Spotlight is one of my favourite blog segments. I couldn't resist not pointing this out. As someone who's trying to get into amateur film making myself I know how hard it is to make something look that good. They should be very proud of this teaser.
