Final Fantasy All The Bravest – out now on iOS!

That's right – a new Final Fantasy game for iOS devices has just been released! It's called Final Fantasy All the Bravest, and if you're a fan of the franchise's classic Active Time Battle (ATB) system, you'll definitely want to check it out.

It's a touch-action RPG in which you battle enemies by attacking when your bar is full. As you progress you'll earn experience points, and unlock new slots in order to add more members to your team.

There's a bunch of familiar characters, enemies and over 30 songs from classic Final Fantasy games, with a range of jobs in which to specialize, including Warrior, Monk, Red Mage and more.

You can also track each character that joins your ranks, as well as the enemies you encounter and items you obtain, while the inclusion of global leaderboards and social networking features means you can keep tabs on how your mates are doing.

It's available now from the App Store for $3.99/€3.59/£2.49, and more information is available on the official website.

Guys, the game is a waste of money, it's the common opinion.
Growling and spitting at each other over manners (which for the most part are fine in my opinion) isn't going to change how bad the game is.
I completely agree with Brodiek in the terms of CC. EVERYTHING needs it if you want to go further. Whether it is good or bad, criticism is a necessary evil to improve and create superior products.
You can't please everyone, but every bit of possitive AND negative information is valuable. It's the same in every line of work.
*facepalm* You're like talking to a no-reply/auto-respond bot that has nothing to say for themselves except quote terms and services :/ This is why I pointed out you act as if you're a moderator in which you're not. And constantly telling me to mind my manners as if you're calling out me doing something wrong?

And I believe thats a completely valid point if QUOTE "To make things clear once and for all: I am no gamer" why are you on this website. This is a place for feedback and information, that's why I am here If all Square Enix recieved was butt-kissing from every single product they released then we wouldn't get very far in terms of decent products it's called Constructive criticism.

And money griping fans is not a positive thing especially in blatant terms with no reasoning behind it. I can understand dlc that includes a few hours of decent gameplay to prolong a games life span. But to add it to a mobile game at that cost for that smaller amount of content is wrong. It just isn't justifiable.

Please if you have something to point out why my reasoning is incorrect but if you continue to just quote TOS at me like some kind of bible bashing I will ignore you from here on end.
"Avoid personal attacks on others. A player’s passion for a game can run high, but that isn’t license to target others in the heat of an argument."
"You however seem to act like a moderator, when you're not and one that sucks up really bad - like I said it's kind of tacky the way you do it. Each to their own I suppose.

I'd have nothing against this game if it weren't such a money sink, it's literally like a pile of sprites with some cheesy text that looks like it was scripted by an intern on their first week with the pricetag of FF13/13-2 combined... I mean seriously? How can you defend this? And if you're no gamer then why are you here - this is a gaming companies forum."

Didn't I tell you to mind your manners, brodiek?
* how can anyone from SE or anybody else justify the way things are going with IAP's I was so fed up with not getting the 5 star card on GC that I did not bother to go on I could not get the golbaz 5 star as well that I think is ended.

Hope it f-ing rots :(
I been reading the reviews on the App Store but it the tip of the ice burg why?

Because I read that be the way of the next gen with IAP's example GT6 run out of petrol cost you 69p on dead space3 you buy with real money weapons.

If what I read is true I'm giving up VG for good SE EA & SCEE make me wanna puke, I regret buying FF-ATB & I'm not going to buy any more party members and soundtracks for FF rythme game.

hope ppl do the same I want cloud I bet I get him as the last member to buy.
Yeah I ended up playing it on my mates iPad just to make sure the reviewers weren't over-reacting, the game is Aus $3.50 I think? and then every map unlock is $4.50 there's 3 to unlock($20 so far), then there's $1 for each character, so say you really just wanted Cloud from FF7 well you gotta keep buying random characters for $1 until you unlock that person, there's up to 50 to unlock randomly (that's $50 alone) And then on top of that they have a "Pay to revive team" function that costs more money if you don't want to wait for your team to revive. It's pretty gross adding micro transactions at every point to build the game to it's fullest even then the game is still terrible, you play by swiping ur finger up and down the right hand of the screen repetitively.. the entire time. No skill involved, nowhere to really develop ur chars only subtle equipment bonus. and little to nothing to spend the gil u earn in game on. Just real money.

Kotaku calculated the game can cost up to $125 :/ that will be the cost of 13/13-2and preordering 13: Lightning returns ($30, $35, $60) Respectively.

There is just no game here only using the title Final Fantasy to trick people into thinking there's a game within.
Brodiek: You sure you're thinking about the right game?
From the sound of it, you're talking about FF-Dimensions, which is highly over priced.

This game is only £2.49 (as stated in the blog post). :S I can guarantee that I couldn't even get 13+13-2 off of even ebay for that much.

Maybe this game has extra charged hidden inside of it? Being as it's iOS I sadly can't play it though I want to.
I don't let reviews waver my decissions since everyone has different tastes.
Have you played it? You sound like you have.
PS - I however am posting here because I fear for Square Enix as a company, releasing garbage like this makes the fans who do wish to buy their games in the future with a tainted taste in the mouth that makes you really have to think before purchasing another one of their games ever again.

Sorry for the double post, but I really think this needs to be felt at the heart level of the company.
Mind my manners? I'm sorry if I state what I see and I wouldn't say without reasoning, just as the people who say anything wrong about Ben I disagree with completely - He is a great community leader answers questions and is helpful in general.

You however seem to act like a moderator, when you're not and one that sucks up really bad - like I said it's kind of tacky the way you do it.

And if you're no gamer then why are you here - this is a gaming companies forum.
@Ben: "all our different studios - and there's a lot of them" :o How many? That makes me really curious ^^ Is that just local or international?

@Grim: x'D It's be like Angry Birds, but instead you'd be catapulting FF characters! That'd be amazing :3
Hey guys, sorry I couldn't address some of the concerns sooner. I was back home in Norfolk at the weekend and had no internet! I'll be posting this (or very similar messages) in a few blog posts, so apologies if you've read this already.

First off I'd like to make something clear; many of you are aware that members of the community have clear stances on their feelings towards Square Enix or some of our products. Regardless of whether those feelings are for or against Square Enix everyone is entitled to their opinion. We don't expect you to necessarily agree with each other but we do want you to maintain a civil conversation. Constructive threads help me raise hot issues within the company in an efficient manner - but ultimately I want you guys to get along.

Secondly, there are no hidden agendas here. I work as Community Manager which divides my responsibilities both between the community and the company. Talking to you and listening to what you have to say is very important. My responsibilities here at Square Enix include reporting the news and the behind the scenes developments of all our different studios - and there's a lot of them! While obviously I'd hope that we always have news that will excite everyone here all the time, it'd be naive to say that we will get it 100% right 100% of the time. The important point is that we must deliver this news so that we can get feedback firsthand. Good or bad, we want to hear it from our most passionate fans and most of the time that happens be here on the blog.
Sounds like a fun game to me. ^_^
Maybe it could even be recreated using the new chibi line?

If only there was a working toy replica of Sister Ray...
Grim, I'm sorry, this just cracks me up so much, I had to share the mental image that you just gave me with the following quote "If the Northern Crater won't come to Cloud, then Cloud must go to the Northern Crater."
I can no longer think of that long a perilous journey, I keep thinking about shooting poor Cloud out of a canon into the general direction of the crator x')
First character to make it in, wins.
I knew there was a REAL use for the mako canon!
However: brodiek, mind your manners. I wouldn't like seeing you say something like that to anyone else, may it be another user or a member of the staff. Keep this in mind from now on.
Don't worry about me, Xaiphin. I'll simply report that member's comment and post one of my standard replies:

"To make things clear once and for all: I am no gamer, nor am I a "fan" of Square Enix. I am nothing but myself. However, I do happen to enjoy some of this company's creations. That's all.

"If the Northern Crater won't come to Cloud, then Cloud must go to the Northern Crater."

---I guess that's my way of seeing things, therefore I never have any reason (nor any time) to complain. Besides, there is no need to rush into matters, the Ancients (fossils: squareenixmembers.webs.com/Ancient.jpg) won't go anywhere.

But, to each their own. Over and out."
I'd play this if it was on android.
It looks like a cute bit of fun and there is nothing wrong with fun!

Grim, just ignore them :)
They'll go away once you stop taking the bait ^^
Grimoire im sorry but you're sucking up to SE is pretty tacky I see you post A LOT here and I get that but seriously, this game has as much gameplay as rubbing ur finger up and down a screen. You have to have some kind of mental illness to enjoy it for that. This is just a disgrase to the FF series and is blatent cash grabbing from fans.

I find this game morally wrong.
Non-cynical positive review (the Japanese gamers like it!)
http://www.appbank.net/2013/01/17/iphone-application/530775.php
This game is an insult to the Final Fantasy fans. It has nothing to do with Final Fantasy! Don't buy this! Metacritic score 25/100.
I havent insulted 1 person here. If I can stop one person from buying this trash mission accomplished
Cease your personal insults towards others, as well as towards the company in general, Stealth. It won't help anyone, nor will it improve anything whatsoever. You are accomplishing nothing but wasting your time over something as irrelevant as a games developer (my apologies).

That's all I have to say.

great job square, you really care about quality these days
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/18/final-fantasy-all-the-bravest-review

"Don't be lured in by the brand - Final Fantasy All the Bravest has no gameplay and is nothing more than a cash grab."

Sounds about right
I have to admit it is nice to see a few square fans left, even if it is on there own site
@Stealth You claim to want to change it through feedback, but I've yet to see any constructive criticism from you.
Trolling is feedback now? News to me...
i think i am
Feedback is always welcome. Just make sure to put your heart into it. ^_-
just what i am doin
How noble of you.
i want to change it through feedback
Then don't waste your time on this site. ^_-
When every major site is putting out a psa to avoid this like the plague.

I dont need to

I would never give square money again
Still, never fully trust a review until you have played the game yourself.
Oh, so you were talking about some of the English magazines? I was talking about the Japanese ones from the 80's. That explains it.
I am looking at some gamepros and egms now. And those older final fantasies always got top scores
Hnh? I was pretty sure I was trying to use my mind to recall the past. Well, what do you know. I must simply be a little too old, that's all. Maybe I was just making things up? No, that can't be...
you arent remembering. I still have those magazines.
When? Even Final Fantasy (I) was (surprisingly enough) given really low scores by several prominent magazines, if I remember correctly.
This game features proper pixel art unlike Final Fantasy Dimensions, which is an immediate + for me regardless of the gameplay (although I've been reading it's really bad).

I will not purchase it though for the reason irrelevant to the quality of the game.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/18/final-fantasy-all-the-bravest-review

Another review under 3...........

there was a time when the series wouldnt score under 8
To each their own. I think it looks like a cute little game.
He didnt write it but hes pretending the game is good.
Not to mention that Ben didn't write this article.
Community manager should be fired for doing his job right... Way to blow any credibility you could otherwise have. There's a limit to how much and in what ways you can criticize before it loses strength altogether.

Feedback needs to be appropriately worded and placed, otherwise it's not good.

Those friends of yours must be pretty awesome. ^_-
My friends work at nisa. I know them

http://kotaku.com/5977118/the-slow-excruciating-death-of-final-fantasy

final fantasy is dead
...So frankly, you want Bateman fired only because he does his job? There are better ways to spend your time, Stealth. Much better ways. I wouldn't be here unless I had a very good reason to (or rather, plenty of them!) Enough said.

By the way, if you no longer enjoy Square Enix's games, I'd really recommend Nippon Ichi Software, su! http://nisamerica.com/
(You've probably already heard about them, or even played some of their games, but, even so: It's an amazing company, suuu!~
...and the Item World is a really dreamy place...鰯!!)
