FINAL FANTASY VII For PC Out Now
It's with great excitement that we're please to announce that FINAL FANTASY VII has returned to PC and is available to download today.
As a much loved RPG and favourite amongst our fans we're worked hard to optimise FINAL FANTASY VII so that it can support modern hardware as well as introduce a number of new online features. Cloud saving (pardon the pun) will allow gamers to play to take their save anywhere that has an internet connection.
For the first time FINAL FANTASY VII comes with 36 achievements allowing fans to prove their worth and compete against each other to unlock them all. Finally FINAL FANTASY VII also comes with an optional Character Booster for those new to the game or find them stuck, maximising the players HP, MP and Gil levels.
FINAL FANTASY VII for PC is only available from the Square Enix Store. There is a special promotional launch price of €9.99 / £7.99 for a limited period only. (Offer ends 12th September. Standard price: €12.99 / £9.99).
Update [21st August 2012 @ 17:00]: While many people have now downloaded and are enjoying FINAL FANTASY VII for PC there are unsurprisingly a few issues that have come up so we'll address as many of them as we can in a FAQ below.
I have purchased the game from the SQUARE ENIX Store, but my activation key will not work in the game launcher. What can I do?
1) Log into this website using the "Log in" button in the top right corner of the screen.
2) Select "Add new game" from the top right corner drop-down menu, or follow this link.
3) Follow the instructions on screen using the activation key that you have been sent.
4) Once the game has been added to your Game Shelf, please run the game application again and log in with the account you have just used to register the product.
When launching FINAL FANTASY VII or activating my code on the website I get the following error messages: "Server error. Please try again." or "Your copy of FINAL FANTASY VII (PC) is already registered". What can I do?
We have identified an issue that is affecting a small number of people from activating or playing their copy of FINAL FANTASY VII. This issue has now been resolved and the affected customers should expect to receive an email update shortly.
I have purchased the game from the SQUARE ENIX Store, but have not yet received an activation key. What can I do?
We apologise deeply for this issue: our store servers are experiencing very strong traffic and we are working to fix this in the shortest amount of time.

I get "Error -6005" when trying to activate FINAL FANTASY VII for PC.
This occurs when the FINAL FANTASY VII for PC launcher is unable to connect to the activation servers. Please disable any firewalls or make sure that you add FINAL FANTASY VII for PC as an exception.
I'm unable to sync my local save with the cloud, what should I do?
We're currently investigating this issue and will advise you shortly of our progress. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Chrono Trigger/Cross, FF9,X, 8 (except for disc 4), the list is longer but; the one I enjoyed most notably was Final Fantasy 7. If there were any game worth remaking, other than FF Tactics (maybe Chrono series), it is Final Fantasy 7. One high ranking member of your organization mentioned that remaking FF7 would ruin the company or something like that, and it should not be done until the original was surpassed. If that logic were to be applied logically, no remake of any other game should have been made until a game that surpassed FF7’s quality of experience had been made. With the exception of the PS one remakes of the earlier FF titles, naturally. To look at it from a business standpoint, you have known for a long time that great demand for one specific product exists, a FF7 remake. With PS4 coming out soon and lackluster sales of these following games: Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (just guessing). A business consulting firm might advise that particular company to capitalize on its greatest asset to recoup some losses. To address the issue of needing to create a title that surpasses Final Fantasy 7 in quality of experience and craft; perhaps through giving FF7 the remake that lives up to expectations, the company will grow its ability to create a game that surpasses it on a modern console. Plus it’s a guaranteed success, millions would be pre-ordered. People who haven’t played video games since FF7 would buy it. Consider the following to explain how this remake would help create the game that would surpass FF7. By analyzing the underlying principles that made FF7 stand out against other FF’s, the company can make a game that isn’t a clone of FF7 nor follows it in a formulaic manner. In a way, it would bring the company back closer to the fundamentals of making a truly great gaming experience, epic in scale and story. Note to anyone thinking of getting it, just get a PS1 emulator and play it that way, it'll be more stable than from the guys who actually make it. Though, I don;t know who to blame, Square or Edios. Square has gone down hill so bad since becoming Square-Enix, who runs your company? A Monkey?

If you are having the flicker issue try this. (Aka the click play and the game doesn't start problem..)
Exit out of the game. Renter and try again, you don't have to relog into the account if it doesn't prompt you to.
If that doesn't work then Exit out of the game and restart your PC. After you restart your PC for some reason the game seems to work fine then. Also recommended you don't really exit out of the game unless you need to since it might mean you will have to restart the pc to get back in.
Square , make a true remake and save yourself from the downfall.

If anyone has any solutions to the play flicker please share. It did it all day earlier then stopped randomly and then now its starting up with it again.
If you force us to use your cloud saving feature then make it reliabel.
Since I played the game in25% of the times I want to save it can not sync/find the savegames and today I only can start a new game because I can not load my savegames...
Even on my profile on this website it says I have 0 savegames, 0 hours played and no achievments which is just plain wrong.
If this will not get fixed soon I will heavily reconsider to buy another "remake" you do in the future.
Really poor form on SE behalf.
The game was running perfectly fine yesterday, now when I press "play" on the launcher it goes off for a few seconds just to return to this screen. I seriously cannot believe all these problems STILL haven't been dealt with.
Will these save issues be fixed, will you allow me to save locally instead of using a ****** cloud service or are you just going to leave us hanging high and dry?
also get a gold choco when killed ruby it was an amazing gift and the masters after emerald made it worth while

It's a Disgrace, totaly ruining a my experience of my all time favourite game.
You said you wont Re-make final fantasy 7 until you make a game that gets more acclaim that it did, how do you expect to do that if you can even re-release this game and get it right!
