When it comes to Europe there's one gaming show that set's itself apart from the rest. Gamescom is arguably the E3 of Europe and holds the title of biggest games show this side of the pond. As always it's our greatest pleasure to be one of the many high profile publishers and developers in attendance this year. We've got quite the event planned for you, so let's take a look at what you can expect to see.

Gameglobe - Build your own games from the comfort of your own browser? Sounds too good to be true, but it's not. See how it's done at the Bigpoint booth, C025-B024, in hall 8.

Motley Blocks - We hope you've got fast fingers because this 3D puzzle game requires a whole new level of attention and coordination.
Qwirkle - Earn points by building rows and columns of tiles that share a common shape or colour in this matching game that requires tactical manoeuvres and well-planned strategy

For those attending you can find us at booth B051 in hall 7 from the 15th -19th August. We'll of course be covering the events live from the show floor, so if you aren't attending then you won't lose out. Make sure to follow us on twitter (@SQUARE_ENIX_EU) as we'll be giving you plenty of opportunities to ask your questions directly to the developers (Don't forget to use the hashtag #SquareEnixGamescom). You can also email your gamescom questions for any of the games listed above to secommunity@square-enix.com

i don´t think your the person that should be criticize him considering SEE has never done a **** thing for their european playstation fans just ignoring when they ask for classics and not releasing them.
and SE hasen´t releast anything good in a good time and all games for gamescom were recycled old games.
My main point was to say that it's too easy to be narrow-minded. I know that people want Versus (heck I want it too!) but saying it was "Old recycled games" is just completely untrue. We showed a completely new game mode for Hitman at Gamescom (for the first time). Attendees actually got to play Tomb Raider (for the first time). We showed off XIV gameplay live! (for the first time in the world!). We gave hands on with FINAL FANTASY DIMENSIONS (for the first time in Europe). Just because there weren't "new" titles doesn't mean it wasn't a good event for the people who were actually were there. So many events are held in North America that it's nice to show them in person to European fans. For the people I spoke to on the show floor they were very grateful of the opportunity and I was so happy to be part of their exciting time in Cologne. It's too easy for us as individuals to think about what we want, when the truth is that there are lots of different types of gamers who are excited about lots of different games. Sorry if that comes across quite harsh, we want to give gamers what they want, but sometimes you've got to look at the bigger picture.
If you're talking about the games we provide on PSN, this has absolutely nothing to this blog post. We tend to discuss general matters in the "Square Enix Weekly Recaps"
SLEEPING DOGS looks a very interesting story
unlucky: friday is darksiders2 release ;(
I hope this year some "professionals" are organizing the SE-box two years before it was just one terrible failure...
speaking of failures the person responsible for the "update" of the SE-Blog here wont be there to by any chance?
some of you guys coming too?

i wasn't expecting FFv13 at GC anyways, just saying it should, anyhow it only 2 weeks tomorrow for GC for now going offline got some things to do.
New games will be announced by Sony I believe, but new game announcements for Gamescom are much less than E3 and TGS. Anyone who thought Versus XIII would make an appearance at Gamescom has set their expectation bar too high. If anything gets known about Square-Enix's own developped games they more often than not premiere in Japan. Sure, it'd be a nice surprise if it DOES show up, but I do not expect it. In addition to that, those 'ever growing rumours' got confirmed to be nothing but a rumour.
Quantum Conundrum is'nt a new game release no more it out on EU psn store it was out about 2 weeks ago. going to try the trail later today.
don't uselessly like puzzle games. :D
At TGS we will no doubt get a repeart performance with some titbits of new infor of new releases.
saying it is a missed opportunity. :|
I think you're just trying to find things to fire critisism at. Gamescom is the biggest gaming event in Europe and it lies between E3 & TGS. The past has learned that usually TGS is where Square-Enix announces the big stuff, and a lot of other companies use the E3 for it. There's but a few companies in comparison to the many announcements of E3 & TGS that save announcements for Gamescom.
I think this is a solid line-up for Gamescom.
who said i didn't like FF14 it a crime I'm a FF fan, i didn't want allt all things announce that be stupid some things do hold big for Big events TGS is 1 of many. ^_^d
can you imagine if sony just recycle stuff from E3 = very boring. :|
Not everyone can go to E3, San Diego Comic Con, PAX etc. This is the biggest gaming event in Europe and allows many people to get hands-on games for the first time. Secondly, we understand that there are a number of games that people want to see but unfortunately we aren't ready to share them yet. While it's a shame it'd be a mistake to say we're not showing anything new. A live presentation of FINAL FANTASY XIV gameplay? That's a big deal. It might not be the game you're looking for but for a lot of people that's really huge.
Let's see...could you by any chance look into if the bugs and graphics issues of FFVII for PC have been cleaned up for the new release (like the open mouth bug and Vincent's messed up model in the scene following Aerith's death)? Thank you in advance!
