So, apparently its a Lightning solo game. Can't say I'm please with the game not being party based.

I guess we'll see how the gameplay turns out. Would have been nice to see some actual screenshots of the game and not just concept art. Hard to believe that the game will be released next year (in Japan at least).

I hope they'll show the title of the new game in English, or I won't be able to understand a thing.

There were actually a few copies of FF PS1 copies available near me last year, including the Anthology copy Stellaking mentioned. But I think they haven't been sold yet, again because of the ridiculous price tag.

I must say, I love the new Amano disc art, and I really would love to have the mini Amano art with stand. I'd be happy if I could get that art on it's own to be honest.

I think it's pretty cool Sony dusted off the old PS1 and PS2 disc press thingy for Square-Enix though.

you lucky if your high street still does ps1 classic preowned & new my high street and some others dont stock ps1 classics as preowned and dont stock the Ps2 ones as well.

Speaking of new games prices... you would be very hard pushed to find a "new" Euro copy of Final Fantasy Anthology sub £70.

The pricing on ebay is ridiculous in general, but I have genuinely seen these copies on the high street at that price. I know it's steep, I would never pay that. And I've even seen copies where the case has litterally fallen apart, yet they still want that much for it.

And like Tanthalas said, it's a collectors item. Put 'Limited' or 'Collectors' and 'Brand New' or 'Sealed' together on an item description, and the price just goes higher. That's just how it is, even if it is stupid and bias. However, looking at it from a consumer point of view (because I personally would open this box up and use the games since I haven't played some of them, as well as some of the other items), I think it is a good deal. It's like the FFXIII-2 Crystal Edition. It sounds steep, but add the RRP/New price of each item in the box together, and you'll find it works out cheaper than buying individually. That's how I see it.

ff6 when 1st come out it was £9.99 the FF7 8 & 9 were £19.99 as plat budget range now those games we cant get now plus i know about the extra stuff but 25 quid is to much brand new or preowned.

Like I already said, the game collection is also a collector's item. Its for putting on a shelf and looking pretty.

@alistair6969, bear in mind there are extras in the box including the visual art collection, anniversary soundtrack/video disc, the FFXIV code and an Amano art replica with stand. Plus each disc is brand new with Amano art instead of the traditional disc art. I'm sorry but considering every PS1 copy I've come across has been £25+ I think this is actually a good deal. However, I'm only saying that because of how much I've seen copies on sale for. If there were really copies out there for around £15, then I'd say fair enough, but I can honestly say I have never seen a copy on sale for less than £25, and these copies are usually in a bad condition as well.

for 280 quid the graphics will be the same, same music & no trophies & achievements and 2 of the games we probably won't get in the box set.

Game prices are usually higher in Japan, so the price of the collection would be decreased if it was released overseas.

Regardless, its a collector's item, that's why its expensive.

only 2 of them we never had ff3 till now it coming on PSP soon & we never had ff11 for EU so i doubt we get the Box set

@Stellaking, Yep, I noticed FFIII is for the PSP, and since (from what I'm aware) it's only a Japan release, then I'm guessing we probably won't see it, since everything in the box seems to be Sony/Playstation exclusive.

I've only played a few of them, so it would be great to get them all, plus, whenever I see a PS1 copy (which is usually damaged) on the high street, they always seem to ask a ridiculous price like £30, so I guess the price for the box set at the moment (£280 I think it was) is actually really cheap when you consider what's with it. Let's just hope if it is released here, they don't inflate the price to round it up or something like that.

As for the Japan/UK time difference, I not really sure. But yeah, just looked it up to be sure and IGN is stating it's at 11:30. Thanks zumo.

I'd love to get both the box set with all the FF games and also the 3 art books. Though I'm sure that both will only be available in Japan, especially the game collection since FFXI was never released on the PS2 in Europe (though they could just offer the PC version insteaad in Europe). That FF game collection should also use the PSP versions of FFI, II and IV instead of the PSX versions.

SE should also make an anniversary collection with all the soundtracks too.

Typically and sadly a regional exclusive no doubt. That boxset is priced mighty fine though.

Initially I thought the same - some other kind of media maybe. Yoshinori Kitase confirmed, it is a game.

Just because the website has the word "game" in it, that doesn't mean it will be another game. It might take VII's direction and turn out to be a movie! It's actually a catchy title... Final Fantasy XIII: A Storm Gathers, nice! I don't know what I would prefer but either way it's gonna take a whole other year at least to be made so all we're looking at on Saturday is an announcement.

Oh, for the love of Etro. I can't wait to hear the announcement of FFXIII-3!! I want Noel, Lightning, Hope, Serah, Snow, Sazh and everyone back in the game!! Please don't remove Noel and make him into a sub character..He sort of grow on me like the other members in FFXIII, but slightly a little bit more though... Which means I really like him allot more. Anyway, maybe it is just me, but the first ending of FFXIII-2 kind of caught me off guard and I was all engross in it... It is very emotional.. And I think the ending make sense given that it has a sequel of course.. So yea, please do tell us more on the game!!! By the way, I love the arrangement for the FFXIII-2 ending credit.. Wish we can more of those great songs in the game!!! The songs makes me feel its epicness!!
