I don't think he's ugly, I think he looks worn-out but tough, like his character. I adore this game and was horrified when I heard they dissolved Cavia. But very much looking forward to Drakengard 3 - just crossing my fingers that it gets enough attention for an english release!

I've been a gamer for almost 20 years, and I can say without a shadow of doubt this is one of the best games I've ever played. Preordered it and got it on release and have loved it ever since. Just wish I could get a lifesize model of Kainé.

just spent my 30 h on this game and I can easily say this is one of the best games of this generation. a pearl in the ocean of games they are releasing.

So after eventually getting through my backlog of games during the summer holidays I can say that this is the one which stood out for me the most! The story writing, characters and the music are just incredible! Honestly the people who reviewed this game are complete idiots! One of your best games Square Enix, without a doubt!

Yeah, the only thing I really disliked was that the monster models were kind of lame.

Just finish it. My god I loved this game. One if the best rpg ever. The story, the characters, the awesome music! Absolutely amazing. Who cares about the bad reviews they gave! The only thing that matters was the name square enix. When you see that on games you don' t need to read reviews. You are just sure it would be great! I would love to see more stuff about this game. A prequel on kainè' s story or something that will show us what happend in the five years that we missed and why nier has one eye!

An amazing game! One of the few games which actually rewards replaying the game with great additions to the storyline. The soundtrack is simply the best I've heard, I never tired of it despite hours of farming :) There are also some touching side quests as well.

Oups, sorry to spam, but I should add something more and could not find an editing option. Thing is, about the things related to Nier that are planned. There is not a certainty that we're even talking about games. Nier is still producing soundtrack CD's and drama CD's after the huge impact of the Nier Soundtrack. Another one is apparently also due for September. So if it's merchandice and stuff like this that was referred to in the original statement, the future of Nier gaming might not be happening. My personal understanding is however that there still will be more than CD's. Until then, I am happy with the Nier soundtracks. I can just never resist buying them, lol.

To answer 3 of the unanswered questions here; Kaine's story is available when you have completed the game once and start a new game+. You will begin around halfway into the game upon loading your endgame file and will be given the option to READ her story. In this playthrough you will also start understanding other things about her character due to circumstances I do not wish to mention in order to avoid spoilers. But you don't really have to work for it, it all comes naturally through the second playthrough (and through ending C and D in consecutive playthroughs). Nier Replicant is a PS3 version of the game only available in Japan. It is nearly identical to the Gestalt version that America and Europe got, just that the main character is young and Yonah is Nier's sister rather than daughter. There are also minimal script changes to fit the character change; Nothing essential. The young Nier is also the young Nier you can play as in The World of Recycled Vessel DLC. The reason for the 2 versions is that Square Enix/Cavia believed the Japanese audience might not take as well to the older character, given their popular culture of having young and pretty males in videogames and manga/anime. In order to avoid the risk that the Japanese wouldn't be interested in the game since it had a rough looking older male, they made this other version. One can argue though, that there might be some hidden and obscure references in the game to each other, indicating there may or may not be another deeo, untold connection between the 2 characters, even though they basically are the same guy just at a different age. About a sequel: As far as I know, there is no official talk about a sequel so far, but the creator has officially said that a number of projects related to Nier are in the works and might be announced within 2011. So we can probably expect there to be SOMETHING with Nier, whether it's sequels, prequels or spin-offs. I can't wait for any news on this matter although I do think that the Nier story rounded itself up so nicely that making a sequel will be hard, given how it all ended. Especially if you read more into the story and figure how things ultimately ended. It also adds to the tremendous sadness of the game to have no such hope as a future title. However, there's plenty of material for prequels. Either way, I do see potential for any kind of Nier project and I imagine it'lll be beyond words in the good way if something new comes out. Lastly, not gonna start talking about my feelings for Nier and the universe. I cannot describe it with words. The music in the game pretty much describes how I feel about every aspect of the game <3<3<3

Heh...Nier is something rare and unappreciated because now days "gamers" tend to play all of the super hyped games out there and if they see a low score they just won't touch it. Ratings/Ranks/Scores are so non-factor because not everyone loves and hates the same things, thats why i rent a game rather then watching some non-factor gaming community like Gamespot/IGN/and many more that give scores based of money. I do hope Square Enix will do a sequel or something because it's worth it, as i always say if you are an RPG fan go for SE, you will find awesome things.

i love Nier! it has fun gameplay, an awesome story (not one that is so insanely detailed and confusing) and also amazing characters! ♥ Emil is the cutest thing ever! :D plus Kaine is so epic! :o plus i like her even more knowing she has the same voice as Serah (FFXIII) and Reimi (SO4) ^_^

I love this game! The storyline is amazing, the music is beautiful, overall the best rpg i've ever played. @Kai-muku, i heard that there will be too, all i've seen online about a sequel was this: 'Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito has commented that "a number of things" related to Nier are in progress, and that an announcement could be due in 2011'... i know it doesnt really say if there will be a sequel but hopefully there should be some more information about it soon :)

What is better Final Fantasy XII or Nier?

Finally got this game! I'm really loving it. It's so full of ideas and tributes that every new zone I explore seems as if a new game is inside the main game. Sure, the budget obviously limits its potential, but the courage of its ideas makes for it. Great title :P

This has to be by far one of the best RPG's ever made, Brillent story very dark but also very moving. you must complete it the second time round to get full sad story. excellent side quest's and the most beauiful sound track. 10/10 - Thanks Sqaure Enix & Cavia.

Nier is awesome! It is dark, twisted and insane. The only game that is more insane, twisted and dark is Drakengard 1, which it follows on from. Well written. The music is so beautiful. It is the most beautiful music I have heard on a game. I bought the soundtrack on I tunes. It made me cry so much the first three time I played it. :( When I saw the end the first time I was like :o. It should be known more than it is. I really hope they make a sequal. I think they should make a anime, manga and film from it. A anime film would be best probabely. Once i get two trophies for fishing and one for 30 wepaons upgraded I will ahve platinum . :D
